APPLICATION PROCESS:

To apply, please visit Abruzzo Italian Kitchen (115 Central Ave, Whitefish, MT) Thursday--Monday between 4:00 and 5:00 pm for a brief interview and to complete paperwork.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

  1. All staff MUST WORK BOTH JULY 13th & JULY 14th.
  2. All day availability required (11 am - Close).
  3. Prior service industry experience required.
  4. Must be over 18.
  5. Valid TIPS certificate required.

PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING WHEN APPLYING:

  1. A copy of your current resume.
  2. Valid state issued ID.
  3. Physical Social Security card.
  4. A copy of your valid TIPS certificate.

Be prepared to interview and complete paperwork immediately (approximately 20 minutes).

$10/hr + tips. Drinking/intoxication of any type at any time while working will result in dismissal without pay.

FESTIVAL EVENT DETAILS

  • Dates: Saturday, July 13th - Sunday, July 14th
  • Location: 1875 Voerman Rd, Whitefish, Montana
  • Staff Parking & check in location TBD. More details will be sent out before the event.
  • Start time (also referred to as “call time”):
  • Doors: 12:00PM
  • Dismissal time: All staff will work from set up to break down; dismissal time TBD.
  • Attire:
  • All black clothing—no logos. Presentable, clean, non-faded, not worn out, ripped, or torn clothing. Shorts and tank tops are permitted. It is in your best interest to look your best.
  • Please wear tennis shoes or any comfortable CLOSED toed shoe. NO SANDALS!
  • IF YOU SHOW UP WITHOUT PROPER FOOT ATTIRE YOU WILL BE SENT HOME.
  • Bottle opener/wine key.

FESTIVAL JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Best Beverage Catering bartender responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
  • Check and ensure patrons are wearing a 21 and over bracelet which allows them to consume and or hold alcoholic beverage.
  • Take drink orders from customers.
  • Mix drinks according to recipes and know all your liquors.
  • Operate point of sale system, which involves:
  • Correctly ringing in items, collecting correct payments, processing credit cards and phone pay.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet and actively work for 12-15 hours.
  • Set up and break down the bar each day and night.
  • Clean bars, tables, and work areas.
  • Be able to move quickly and efficiently (high volume).
  • Fast cash & credit transaction. Best Beverage Catering barback and runner responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Take direction from the bar manager.
  • Set up and break down your specific bar area.
  • Restock the bar (cups, liquor, beer, napkins, straws, water, mixers, ice, etc.).
  • Be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Be able to change kegs.
  • Must be able to stand on your feet and actively work for 12-15 hours.
  • Set up and break down the bar each day and night.
  • Clean bars, tables, and work areas.
  • Be able to move quickly and efficiently (high volume).

COMPENSATION

  • When is payday?
  • Payday is tentatively scheduled for Friday, July 19th.
  • How much will I be paid?
    • All bar staff will be paid $10/hr + cash tips.
  • How much will I make in tips?
    • Gratuity varies widely and is not predictable, however, bartenders can anticipate making anywhere between $150 - $300 per day. Barbacks can anticipate making anywhere between $100 - $200 per day.
  • When are tips distributed?
    • Tips will be distributed with paychecks on Friday, July 19th.

SCHEDULE

  • Do I have to work both days of the festival?
    • Yes, all bar staff must work BOTH Saturday, July 13th & Sunday, July 14th.
  • How long is the shift?
    • You should expect to work between 12 and 14 hours each day.
  • What time do I start?
    • Saturday call time: 10:00 am.
    • Sunday call time: TBD
  • What time will I be finished?
    • You must stay until the manager dismisses all staff members at the end of each day. Failure to do so will result in termination.

OPERATIONS

  • How will I receive information and updates about the festival?
    • We will be creating an account for you on a scheduling platform called 7shifts. All messaging and scheduling will be updated through this platform Who do I report to?
  • Who do I go to for questions?
    • If hired, please refer to the contact list provided.
  • Is there a training period before the event?
    • There will be a pre-shift meeting on the day of the event but no formal training prior to the festival.
  • Is there a uniform?
    • Yes, if hired, please refer to the operations manual.
  • Can I be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances before, during, or after work?
    • No, there is a zero-tolerance policy for being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances. You will be dismissed, and your pay and tips will be held.
  • Can I go and see a performance?
    • Unfortunately, we will need your services from opening until closing.
  • Can I use my cell phone while working?
    • No, cell phone use is not permitted while working.
  • What are we selling?
    • The beverage menu is TBD. Updates will be provided to staff at a later date.
  • Can I give discounts?
    • No discounts are permitted during the festival.
  • Will I get a break?
    • If you work over 8 hours, you will be given a 30-minute break.
    • You MUST get your manager’s approval before leaving the bar for any reason.
  • May I drink alcohol or use drugs during my break?
    • No. Consumption and/or being under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances before or during your shift is strictly prohibited.
